The suit you'll be photographed in
for the rest of your life.
The Columbia of Duluth has been outfitting men for the moments that matter since 1905. Wedding attire, from the groom's suit to the whole party's dress to the alterations that make it all sit right, is work we have been doing for 121 years.
We do it in person, on your timeline, with the fit to show for it.
Answer nine quick questions and we'll have options pulled and a plan in place before you arrive.
One store. Every role.
We outfit the whole party, start to finish.
Most weddings involve at least six people who need to look right together. The groom. The groomsmen, some local, some traveling in. The fathers. The guests who want to match the day without calling attention to themselves.
The Columbia of Duluth handles all of it. We start with the groom and work outward: his suit or tuxedo establishes the register, and every other look coordinates from there. We manage the measurements, the alterations, and the rental logistics. On the day itself, the clothes are ready, pressed, and the right size.
That is the whole job. It takes a few visits. It has worked for 121 years.
How it works
One conversation to start.
The first visit is about the groom. Bring the wedding date, a sense of the venue, and whatever inspiration you have. We'll ask about the ceremony, the reception, the level of formality, and the party size. We'll make a recommendation, show you what's in the store, and, if made-to-measure is the right call, walk through the Atelier Munro program.
From there, we schedule the party. Each groomsman comes in individually or we coordinate a group fitting session. Out-of-town groomsmen can provide measurements remotely, and we do a final check and adjust when they arrive.

Purchase and rental, both.
What we carry, and how it works.
Made-to-measure for the groom
The Columbia is an authorized Atelier Munro retailer. Atelier Munro suits are made in Antwerp on your measurements, delivered to the store in about four weeks, and finished with alterations done here. For grooms who want a suit they'll still wear in ten years, this is the answer. Order at least eight weeks before the wedding date. The first fitting is required.
Rental and off-rack, with alterations
We carry a full range of formal and semi-formal options that can be rented or purchased and altered to fit. For a purchase that holds its shape and its value, Hart Schaffner Marx and Oxxford are the premium tailored anchors in the room. Rental suits and tuxedos leave the store pressed and correctly sized. Returns are typically done in person at the store, and for out-of-town groomsmen or guests who can't make it back in, a prepaid mail-back label is available on request.

Footwear
Allen Edmonds. Every width, every occasion. We fit shoes the same way we fit suits: by measurement, not by guessing the size on the box.
The out-of-town question
Wedding parties scatter. That is not a problem.
Minneapolis. The Iron Range. Wherever the groom's college friends ended up. For local groomsmen, we schedule individual fittings over a two-week window. For out-of-town groomsmen, we send a measurement guide, they provide sizes, and we do a final adjustment when they're in Duluth for the wedding week. For very small parties, a single group appointment works.
We coordinate the fittings, track the alterations, and send reminders. The groom doesn't have to manage it. That's the point.
Every garment we fit is altered in-house: sleeve length, waist suppression, hem, jacket shoulder. If the shell fits, we can do the rest. For wedding work we hold a priority window, so tell us the event date at the first appointment.

North Shore · Lake Superior · Minnesota
The North Shore has its own rules.
A downtown ballroom on Saturday night calls for a different weight and construction than a ceremony on a Lake Superior bluff in June. Lakeside venues run cooler than you expect even in summer, and the big-sky venues along the North Shore get real weather. A suit chosen without accounting for the venue and the season is a suit that is wrong on the day.
This is not atmospheric observation. It is a fitting variable. When we make a recommendation, we ask about the venue and the month. We have been making this call in this city since 1905. The geography is part of the service.
