The Upgrade

Cocktails, good causes, and a reason to get dressed up.

March 18, 2026
5:30 – 9:00 PM

Dressy Casual · Cocktail Attire Encouraged

What to Expect

An evening worth getting dressed up for.

Columbia Clothing opens its doors for one night — cocktails, community, and two causes that are making Duluth better every day. The dress code is dressy casual. Think a sport coat with dark jeans, a sharp blazer over a nice sweater, or anything you'd wear to a cocktail party where you actually want to look good. No ties required — just effort.

Open Bar

One drink ticket to start the conversation. Cash bar to keep it going.

Appetizers

A curated spread — because nobody looks sharp on an empty stomach.

Style Your Date

She picks out a complete look for him from the floor. Every purchase benefits COGGS.

Photo Moment

We’ll capture the big reveal. Every photo taken donates $5 to COGGS or Boys & Girls Clubs.

Silent Auction

Bid on one-of-a-kind items all night. Every dollar goes to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland.

The Main Event

Style Your Date

You think you know his style? Prove it. She picks out a complete look for him — head to toe — right off the shop floor. No rules, no runway — just bragging rights and a really good photo.

1

The Card

Grab your drink, grab your guy. She gets a card with the challenge printed on it: pick a complete head-to-toe look for him — shirt, trousers, jacket, the works. The card has a few guiding questions to get her started (his favorite colors, what he'd never pick for himself, the vibe she's going for) and space to jot down her picks before she hits the racks. No experience required. Confidence encouraged.

2

The Challenge

She raids the racks. She debates the trousers. She argues with herself about the pocket square. Our clothiers are around if she needs a second opinion — but this is her vision. He just has to trust the process.

3

The Photo

When he walks out looking unreasonably good, we'll snap a photo — one on your phone for the 'gram, one on ours for posterity. Every photo taken donates $5 to COGGS or Boys & Girls Clubs. So really, looking good is charity.

4

The Brag

She styled him. He looked great. She looked even better for pulling it off. The photo's already on her phone. The cocktail's still cold. And somewhere, a kid just got a better trailhead. Not a bad Tuesday.

Where Your Dollar Goes

Two causes. Both right here in Duluth.

The styling challenge ties it all together — every purchase from the floor benefits COGGS, every photo taken donates $5 to either nonprofit, and every auction bid supports the youth of the Northland.

COGGS

Lester Bike Playground & Trail Head

The Twin Ports have world-class trails but still lack a dedicated skills area — a place where kids can safely learn and riders of all ages can progress. COGGS and the City of Duluth secured a $1.3M grant to build a bike skills park at Lower Lester and improve the trailhead with restrooms, water, and lighting. They need to raise $180,000 in matching funds to make it happen.
